Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the topics of Kurds and Kurdistan, broadly construed, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. Per a community decision all articles and edits related to Kurds and Kurdistan are covered by the "extended-confirmed restriction", meaning that new users like yourself should not be directly making article edits about the topic. You are welcome to suggest changes at the associated talk pages. You will be able to make direct article edits in the topic area once you've made at least 500 edits and when your account is at least 30 days old.
