Wikipedia:WikiAfrican studies journals

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WikiProject African studies journals aims to share knowledge about electronic journals on and from Africa.

The idea of setting up a list of African studies journals was born at the meeting of European Librarians on African Studies (ELIAS) in Paris in 2008. After that meeting four organisations shared their lists of African studies journals: The Nordic Africa Institut in Uppsala, African Studies Association of the United Kingdom, University Library Franfurt / Special collection Africa South of the Sahara and the African Studies Centre in Leiden.

The African Studies Centre in Leiden merged these lists and made one comprehensive list of more than 1.000 African studies journals.

The list can be accessed on Wikipedia: African studies journals.

This is not a definitive list: it is work "under construction". The list will be expanded (ISBN etc.) and updated in the future. It would be nice if all African Studies Journals would get their "own" page in Wikipedia, like Aequatoria and African Affairs.
