Vandalism in the Trilobite page

Hi Uness232 It has been a long time since I last communicated with you. I found the Trilobite page vandalised and the infobox messed up. I tried undoing the vandalism by undoing the edit which caused it but I failed. Can you please fix it. Thank you. Deutschland1871 (talk) Deutschland1871 (talk) 22:49, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

Humid subtropical

Per the Koppen climate classifciation, the states I outlined all have humid subtropical in their respective regions.

Climate of New York (state)

Climate of Massachusetts

Climate of Rhode Island

Climate of Connecticut

Climate of New Jersey

Checking the Koppen maps on these articles will show that the edit is genuine.

@Chumzwumz68: The edit is genuine and constructive and I have no doubts about your good-faith, but those maps use one of two isotherms possible with the Köppen classification. One is -3C, and the other is 0C. The maps you show use -3C, but Beck et al. doesn't and opts for 0C; my suggestion is that we should include climates that would qualify for both isotherms. Maybe we could add a footnote delineating the differences between 0C and -3C? Seems as if it is quite drastic though. Chumzwumz68 (talk) 19:38, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
@Chumzwumz68: Possible, but would break up the prose to a level that would make some uncomfortable. I actually outlined a more radical idea on the talk page, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in that. Uness232 (talk) 19:41, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

Ottoman music for string quartet

An cool playlist I found—thought it might interest you. Aza24 (talk) 17:13, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

@Aza24 You're right, it is quite interesting! To be perfectly clear, by the way, these aren't traditional pieces rearranged for our contemporary ears, but are at least somewhat historically-informed renditions that capture an interesting period of music in the Ottoman palace. These are pieces that were composed (or re-arranged from older, pre-Westernisation pieces) in the mid 19th-century, as the Ottoman court was taking an interest in Western instrumentation, but was not ready to give up its own tradition (it would do that 50 years later - or so, around the beginning of the 20th century). Some of the music here is very clearly modeled after Western melodies; others are more eclectic. So yes, definitely an interesting time in Ottoman music history! That makes sense—I was surprised how some sounded like Tchaik but others like actual Ottoman music. Fun stuff. Aza24 (talk) 20:28, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
