This list is great, and I'd love to snap-reference it with when I get whined at for tagging pages for speedy deletion. Any thoughts about moving it out into WP space, making it an essay and adding a shortcut? Maybe WP:SPEEDYTHINGS? Vicenarian (T · C) 21:59, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks! I'll look into it. Just got back from vacation so I need to catch up on things first. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:01, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing attempts to introduce misinformation on the Jeff Gordon page[edit]

Hi Nawlin, Again, Zaxby has posted systematically wrong stats here [1] and [2] where he has edited the page to say that Gordon finished 17th (he finished 26th) [3], and that he is leading the points by +46 points, when in fact, he is now in second place, trailing by 46 points [4]. At first, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and assumed that he was simply looking at someplace that has different stats from those posted on Nascar.com. However, as this continues week in and week out, I am beginning to think of this more as subtle, and insidious vandalism. I have left messages on his talk page, and here on the article talk page, none of which he has responded to. If this continues, I'd like to ask you, as the admin who semi-protected the Grodon page, to block Zaxby for vandalism, or at the very least, to block him from editing this page and systematically attempting to introduce misinformation into wikipedia. This sort of behavior is not acceptable, and should not be allowed to continue. Edhubbard (talk) 01:05, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jonathan Box requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. peterl (talk) 03:10, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Qbert 3 page[edit]

Hi, I've been working on Q*bert and created some redirects for the less-notable sequels, one of which is Q*bert 3. When I was about to create it, I learned it was deleted before. Just wanted to see if there was any issue with me recreating it as a redirect? (Guyinblack25 talk 22:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Comment moved to bottom by friendly page stalker[edit]

MrOzio: Thank you so much for deleting my entry. Settlement Capital is the first company to buy structured settlements. It's historical and belongs on Wiki.

I was still working on editing it and pulling my facts together. For the time being I just pulled the "about me" from their web site.—Preceding unsigned comment added by MrOzio1 (talkcontribs) 20:32, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Mutrie[edit]

I noticed you began this article on the original Met. I am a contributor/editor for a Mets-themed blog and wanted to put together a tribute to Mutrie. Do you still have your sources for this article, or could you help point me in the right direction? I want to put some real research into this one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Misopogon (talkcontribs) 16:13, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The facts in the article are largely taken from the cited New York Times obituary -- I noticed the link was broken and I've now linked directly to the Times website. Let me know if you need me to email you a PDF of the obituary. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:25, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Www.rusemusic.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Loparex deletion[edit]

Hi Nawlin, could you please tell me why you deleted the page LOPAREX (I admit that it was not finished yet, but before I could write "hang on" it was already deleted - while trying to edit 4 pages at once which all relate to each other.) I see that Wikipedia allows the page AVERY DENNISON, which is an industry leader for label production, but you don´t allow the Page LOPAREX which has lead the industry RELEASE LINER MANUFACTURING and is the only globally acting company in this industry. I am an expert in this field and as you can see in my contribution page am fixing a lot of the sites related to this industry -- which are -- (to put it midly) a mess and contain a lot of old or wrong information. Just wondering!

  • If you can show that the company is notable per WP:CORP by citing reliable independent sources per WP:V, feel free to repost. NawlinWiki (talk) 04:55, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Bible Society (deletion)[edit]

Hi there. I'm trying to create a page for the Canadian Bible Society. I'm a representative incharge of creating a wiki page for CBS. The first article I posted is the "official" statement from CBS which would be an accurate statement about what we do. However, it seems that there is a copyright issue using this making the page a candidate for immediate deletion. Is it possible to have this page reinstated? I will have to rewrite the page to suit the wikipedia policy if it's necessary. Thanks! CBSWiki09 (talk) 20:54, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you added a prod tag to this page (old title Shay's bones and biscuits) I agree that as it was when you added the tag it was prod material, but I wonder if you would be willing to review it again now that I have edited it, and if you still consider it eligible let me know and I'll move it to a AfD as a contested prod, but if you believe it now to be worthy of inclusion then do you think you could remove the prod tag please? Thank you for your time, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 19:49, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey NawlinWiki. Sorry, this article was deleted while i was in the process of writing it. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with the accomplishments of the Labs (reason actually why it was removed) :) and we have a pending article in a well-known computer security magazine coming up that i was going to wait to add. So i revamped the whole structure to make the article more compliant. I renewed the info box from "company" to "computer underground" as all of our income is either donations for the lab, or the revenue made from the work done on WeakNet Linux ALL goes to charity for Uganda Africa. I have posted as many references, affiliates, press and accomplishments as possible and re-wrote the summary as well, to not include my own (which is still far beyond what i have imagined they would be) and re-posted it. If you happen to find anything that does not suit the encyclopedia - please feel free to change it, mark for dspeedy deletion, or bring it to my attention and I can change it, or request that it be edited by you or your staff to be compliant. Thank you, and damn, you do a lot of work around here! Douglasberdeaux (talk) 21:33, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Beaudry RV[edit]

I'd like a discussion on the deletion of Beaudry Rv as the information presented on the cited web article is accurate and not a blatant advertisement. The company has been in business since 1940 starting as Beaudry Motor Company. It was Chrysler Plymouth dealership on the back of a Shell station. Four generations of family members have worked within the company and within the community. Certainly, it is not the case that businesses are not listed on wikipedia. As Beaudry Motor Company is almost 70 years old and family owned and operated, I think it ought to be allowed a page rather than being instantly deleted. If the citation is not sufficient to create the page, what would the criteria be to have Beaudry RV listed on wikipedia? Thank you for your consideration. Humbly Submitted, Scott Lee Beaudry.

American Hamburger Restaurants[edit]

The page History of the American Hamburger Restaurant will be a page dedicated to the history of the iconic american hamburger restaurant. It will not discuss the origins of hamburger (Gengas Khan, Romans, etc.) or the global variations of ingredients, condiments, etc. There will be information copied from main article of the hamburger of course. But isn't that expected? The entire bulk of the hamburger page is information from other countries that will not be on this stricly "American" only page. Hey there... I'm not quite sure why you deleted the entry for Starcrossed (web). It's a web reality series that just premiered and is continuing on. It expands upon the entry in my own profile at Greg Tufaro [1]. Where should it go if not on its own page if there's a cross-reference already listed under Starcrossed indicating that a Starcrossed (web)[2] page could be created? dearastrolo-g (talk) P.S. The television pilot is an official submission to the New York Television Festival and I'm a television producer. I don't see how the entry for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starcross_(computer_game) fits the criteria any better than this project. It's the first combined reality web/TV series that I know of that combines astrology into the story and is the only show to have ever been shot entirely on the Flip camera with Flip's backing.

The Get Out Clause[edit]

Hi there,

Thinking of recreating the article on the Get Out Clause, which you deleted in 2008. The band shot to notoriety (notability?) when they released a video that they made featuring a mix CCTV footage obtained through the Freedom of Information Act in the UK. And then again when it turned out that not all of the footage was actually from real CCTVs. I was surprised when I came to Wikipedia looking for more information about the band and found nothing.

(Sample articles) http://gizmodo.com/tag/the-get-out-clause/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/1938076/The-Get-Out-Clause-Manchesters-stars-of-CCTV-cameras.html http://observers.france24.com/en/content/20080516-hoax-cctv-video-get-out-clause-clip

Curious on your thoughts as to whether this article would survive / where we'd expect to see the information? Maybe as part of the CCTV article? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCTV#Niche_uses Lot 49atalk 16:35, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
