Image copyright problem with Image:Gallery.welles.headshot.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gallery.welles.headshot.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Gallery.welles.headshot.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Gallery.welles.headshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 11:49, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Do not move articles during an AfD, please

It screws up links to discussion, and tends to cause confusion and bad blood all-around. In the unlikely event this manages to wind up as a "kep", then moves can be discussed. Tarc (talk) 00:26, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Welcome

Your Opinion is More Important than You Think Barnstar
Hello, MetricSuperstar, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like wikipedia and decide to stay. I am sorry that there are so many impersonal warning messages on your talk page. There are many editors who feel that your hard work here is important and valuable, especially me.
Need help?

If you are looking for help, you can just type: {{helpme}} ...and your question on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Or, please visit New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have!

If you have any questions at all, please message me. Again, welcome! Ikip (talk) 17:07, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

RE: "Seems everyone that I admire the most for their comments in AfD is a member of this group. Looks like the place to be." That is heartwarming to hear! Let me know on my user talk page if there is anything I can do to help you. It is rough on wikipedia, and it is even more cut throat as a new user. Again, I am always there to help. Just ask.

Here to help articles tagged for rescue!

Hi, MetricSuperstar, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 17:07, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Suggestions

From user talk ikip:

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for welcome message and the barnstar you left for me! I'd like to take up your offer of help. I've been working on the Barack Obama Joker poster since it was nominated for deletion. I was wondering if you could take a look at it's talk page and help me out on the issues raised, specifically Public Domain? and Neutrality & GNG. I'm especially concerned about the Neutrality & GNG points. Both tags were added by the same editor and he deleted my request for his input from his talk page. Thanks! Metty (talk) 18:03, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks again. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I figured since you can find out from the history, it would be okay! Thanks for your help! Metty (talk) 18:19, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Avoid using editors names. Attempt to make your arguments on the talk page less personal. I refactored out naming editors in one of your sections. Editors will see your edit, and see there name in that edit being criticized, and it will energize them to comment.
Also: remember, as scholars have found about wikipedia: edits begat edits. Sometimes it is much better to be quiet then make a point about a article.
Every time you make a comment, this article goes to the top of every person's watchlist. That is something you want to avoid, especially if you are outnumbered. Ikip (talk) 18:16, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
message me again if you need any advice.
I would suggest activating your email, as anything said on wikipedia can be twisted and later used against you.Ikip (talk) 18:22, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
I activated it. Interesting advice there xD. Thanks. Metty (talk) 18:28, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Admin Help

{{adminhelp}} Kyle & Jackie O & Jackie O, G and Danni Show are being redirected to each other by users Martin451 and 114.76.21.137. As far as I can tell they are different shows and neither of the redirects were talked about on article talk pages. I left a notice on each of the users talk pages but there have since been more reverts so I decided to contact an admin. Metty 02:24, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

I suggest you read WP:BLP and WP:Move as well as WP:SOCK Martin451 (talk) 02:37, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Noted. Metty 02:45, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I was a bit abrupt and WP:Bitey with you. Please do not let this put you off wikipedia. Martin451 (talk) 23:56, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Yo, Metric, admin here. This isn't straightforward, as there might be sockpuppeting involved, so I have copied your comment to the administrators' incidents noticeboard.  Skomorokh
Thanks Skomorokh. Metty 02:45, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
No worries. Let's sit tight and wait for editors wiser than you or I to have a look :)  Skomorokh  03:03, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Welles Crowther

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Welles Crowther. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Welles Crowther. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
