Impartial[edit]

Hey, wanted to stop by to say I appreciate that even though you and I have not always been tight, you still are impartial. Good on you for doing what is best for the project, but if you tell anyone I said this I will deny it. JK Lightburst (talk) 20:40, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

lol LB, thanks for the note, I won't tell anyone if you don't! Idk about you but I have been very happy that we have both been able to move on from our past disagreements and continue participating here without further conflict with each other, thank you for your part in making that happen. Hindsight[edit]

What are your current views on this idea of yours, now that you have the benefit of some hindsight? I'm thinking that your proposal may have been the better solution and that it may be worth advocating for it to be tested, perhaps in one contentious topic area, like ARBPIA at some point. Sean.hoyland (talk) 15:29, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It would certainly lift a lot of the burden of patrolling for ECR violations, and reduce the subjective "is this enough of an edit request, and high enough on the disruptive - non-constructive - constructive spectrum to leave" decisions that have to be made all of the place. It would also reduce the amount of engagement with non-ECR editors that has to be tidied up later. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:35, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And it might change the dynamics of the topic area a bit because the population that watches the centralized page might be more diverse than the rather small set of editors who happen to have topic area pages watch-listed that receive edit request-like things from non-EC editors. It was this edit summary "maybe semi protect this talk page?" that prompted the question. Sean.hoyland (talk) 15:47, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Semi'd for two weeks. I even have that on my watchlist, but there is far too much that I'm trying to keep an eye on to notice all of that stuff. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:55, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, hope that will help. Levivich (talk) 04:53, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I still think it's worth trying, although I haven't been watching many articles over the last few months, so maybe things changed since I wrote that. I thought a central page for some kind of ARBECR edit requests had been already set up--for protected talk pages maybe?--but now I can't find it. I wonder how that's been going? That's the one! Levivich (talk) 13:56, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How do you pronouce your username?[edit]

My mind says it a few different ways and I'm curious what the Levivich-approved version is. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 19:38, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think most people pronounce it "fah-king MORE-on" but in my head it's "LEV-uh-vich." The true pronunciation is "luh-VOH-vich," which is how you pronounce Львович ("Lvovich", "lion's son") but that sounds like "love of itch" in English, so I went with "Levivich" instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Levivich (talk) 21:23, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
