List of personnel changes...
I opened Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vallabharebel a few days ago on this one. There seems to be a backlog - someone must be on holiday or something. Obvs them, but it doesn't stop the hassle. Also I found this complaint at WT:CRIC odd to say the least, but there you go I suppose. Just about to deal with the India under-19 women's page. Wish me luck... Blue Square Thing (talk) 17:32, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Recent changes
- In the Vector 2022 skin, logged-out users using the full-width toggle will be able to see the setting of their choice even after refreshing pages or opening new ones. This only applies to wikis where Vector 2022 is the default. [1]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 February. It will be on all wikis from 9 February (calendar).
- Previously, we announced when some wikis would be in read-only for a few minutes because of a switch of their main database. These switches will not be announced any more, as the read-only time has become non-significant. Switches will continue to happen at 7AM UTC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. [2]
- Across all the wikis, in the Vector 2022 skin, logged-in users will see the page-related links such as "What links here" in a new side menu. It will be displayed on the other side of the screen. This change had previously been made on Czech, English, and Vietnamese Wikipedias. [3]
- Community Wishlist Survey 2023 will stop receiving new proposals on Monday, 6 February 2023, at 18:00 UTC. Proposers should complete any edits by then, to give time for translations and review. Voting will begin on Friday, 10 February.
Future changes
- Gadgets and user scripts will be changing to load on desktop and mobile sites. Previously they would only load on the desktop site. It is recommended that wiki administrators audit the gadget definitions prior to this change, and add
skins=…
for any gadgets which should not load on mobile. More details are available.

Women’s Premier League logo
You recently added speedy deletion request on Women’s Premier League logo uploaded by me.[9]. We all know a league logo is property of its owner and this work is property of BCCI and I too mentioned owner name in commons, along with it I also shared the Facebook link of Image shared by WPL official page from where I downloaded it. Then how that can be a copyright work if I have given all credits. At last someone have to upload logo, BCCI itself isn’t going to upload it on Wikipedia. Other logos uploaded on Wikipedia are not reliable and some are screenshots. The one you uploaded is too a screenshot with blue background, which is obviously not good for info-box. I kindly request you to remove deletion tag, so that I can place that logo on infobox or tell me what I did wrong. Gorav💬 12:15, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
- The logo, and therefore also its copyright, belongs to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and so it is not a free image, unless the BCCI released it as such. Commons doesn't accept any copyrighted images, and there are no exceptions to this, which is why it cannot be hosted on Commons. I have uploaded the image on English Wikipedia using appropriate fair use rationale- note that the logo can only be used on Women's Premier League (cricket) and not 2023 Women's Premier League (cricket) (because the logo is of the general tournament rather than the 2023 edition specifically). Joseph2302 (talk) 12:24, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for clarification. Have a great day. Gorav💬 12:39, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
I have uploaded the official logo on English Wikipedia according to Wikipedia guidelines.[10] Can I update the logo now? Gorav💬 13:45, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Joseph you taught a lot to me about copyright logos upload. Wish you a nice life ahead.🍻 Gorav💬 13:54, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
Women's Premier League editing
There is some typo mistakes in 'Player auction', you should fix it.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 03:58, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know what those typos are, so not going to fix them myself. Anyone can edit it to fix it. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:49, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
BCCI
Hi, I read your logo discuss. BCCI article have its logo and Indian national cricket team use this logo on its uniform, helmet, so we should add it to the latter article. But others will not allow this due to CR. I want you to add it. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 04:03, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
- The current version of the logo on India national cricket team was uploaded onto Commons, which is incorrect (as the logo is copyrighted, and Commons doesn't accept any copyrighted images). Regardless of whether the Indian teams use the logo, it's the logo of the BCCI not the Indian national cricket team, so I don't believe it meets all of the criteria for non-free content to be used, in fact there was previously a discussion to remove it from the Indian team article at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 February 18#File:Cricket India Crest.svg. DYK for Charlotte Payne
On 17 February 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Charlotte Payne, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 2022, Briton Charlotte Payne broke the world record for a hammer throw by a deaf woman by almost 5 metres (16 ft)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Charlotte Payne. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Charlotte Payne), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
