naming conventions[edit]

Hi, please don't capitalize words unless they are a)proper nouns b)the first word in the article title, as per Wikipedia:Naming conventions. Thanks!--Urthogie 18:13, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

revert warring[edit]

Please stop reverting and giving unhelpful summaries like "RV POV"-- believe it or not, we're all rational human beings trying to make Wikipedia NPOV--perhaps you'd see this to be true if you used the talk page before making controversial edits. Anyways, the reason we've reverted your edits on Palestinian political violence is because the Wikipedia manual of style says that you should list all other phrases/synonyms in bold in the title paragraph, not later on. Thanks, --Urthogie 20:46, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you.—LeflymanTalk 22:56, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:BaltimoreSnowstorm.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. bluemask 13:37, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support[edit]

Thanks for helping me out on Talk:Islamophobia. Raphael1 22:25, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Faz90, I noticed you tried to edit the intro to simplify the definition of the term. I've reverted to the version where the definitions are cited, if you decide to edit it again would you kindly cite the source for the definition? There are some definitions of "islamophobia" that include racism while there are others that don't include that. See Islamophobia#Characterizations. If a source for any particular definition is not cited then such a definition will sooner be an example of "original research". Thanks. (Netscott) 09:16, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:BaltimoreSnowstorm.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BaltimoreSnowstorm.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigDT 18:16, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Though there's no specific policy or applicable warning template, I'd strongly advise against making defamatory remarks in edit summaries, as you did at United States Senate election in Kentucky, 2010 (diff). Thanks. – Hysteria18 (Talk • Contributions) 17:32, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
