Portuguese Empire coat of arms[edit]

It is not Wikipedia that keeps changing the coat of arms. It's me. Your design, while correct for the period post-1640, is wrong to for the whole span of the Portuguese Empire. The Portuguese shield is present in every "padrão", in the different flags of the country, etc. Therefore it belongs in the infobox. Please stop pushing your own design. Oh, well, I thought it was Wikipedia doing it, hence why I kept replacing it. You're indeed right on what comes to historical accuracy, but could the post 1640 CoA still be put in the page with a caption for it? Eu El-Rei (talk) 01:01, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not replacing the "base" shield of course Eu El-Rei (talk) 01:05, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that that particular coat of arms is relevant to the article. You could put it in the "Coat of arms of Portugal" article though. Yosy (talk) 10:12, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Funnily enough, someone "expropriated" me from it and put it there already, and I have no problem with that Eu El-Rei (talk) 15:46, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

October 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Diogo Cão. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Minor edits[edit]

Information icon Hi Eu El-Rei! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia — it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
