While having a link from the NY Times article is normally quite solid, the official website of the official sanctioning body is usually considered much better. Universal Single Payer Global Map[edit]

I believe that Italy has a national health service modeled on the British NHS. It is therefore a single payer system with finance largely coming from government. Here is an English translation (via Google) if the Wikipedia page in Italian for this service. The map you created and inserted recently needs to be updated. The Irish system is effectively also a single payer system given the overwhelming dominance of the state owned insurer in the health care market. Market concentration of finance in Ireland is even higher than in the UK.

Hmm. The European Observatory reports are a reliable source but the blig itself is not. I have read many of the EO reports and as far as I recall the EO reports do not regard the systems systematically as single payer, two tier, or other. Therefore the categorization by the blog is, I think suspect. Also there are many countries on the global map that you have coloured for which there is NO information. I am sorry but your map does not meet the WP:RS criteria. I think you should withdraw them or correct them with references back to a SINGLE original source (so that we can be sure that the categoriszation is at least consistent). Every country colored on the map is listed in the article as having universal health care. The only contention that I see is single payer vs. other.

Universal health care - Graphic .. Greenland[edit]

You have been maintaining the global graphic on countries with Universal Health care. Can I ask you to update it again?

I see that Greenland (the huge blob to the right of Canada - with apologies to any Greenlanders reading this) is currently shown in Gray.

I have been reading about healthcare in Greenland at http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/pdf/fg7/telegreen006.html (the site is owned by the ITU which I believe is part of the United Nations and therefore should be reliable). This says "All medical treatment in Greenland is free, being financed by the public via taxes.

The tourist information web site run by the government at http://www.greenland.com/content/english/tourist/travel_info/ask_about_greenland?DocumentID=918 > drop down box "medical care" under "Ask about Greenland" and you'll see it says that "There is a hospital in all towns, and in the settlements there is usually a nursing clinic. It is recommended that visitors bring their own medicine and any other medication that is used regularly, as special products are not always available. In the event of acute illness, treatment is free of charge in Greenland. "

It seems therefore that Greenland has free Universal Health Care funded by taxation and therefore the country should be colored blue accrding to the schema.

I don't have the software to do the updating so I am hoping you can update it for the community.

Also Italy is still the wrong color (it too should be blue, as should Denmark, which is closely related to the matter above concerning Greenland).

Realizing your last comment above, I will make sure the article reflects this so that the graohic and the text of the article are in alignment (assuming you make the changes).

Or alternatively, please give me an idea of what software I need to download, edit, and upload the revised picture and I will gladly attempt to do this myself.

Universal health care - Graphic .. former USSR[edit]

I have added the former USSR republics to the image. I was born and raise there and still have many friends and relatives in these coutries. I know for sure on my personal experience that it is a universal healthcare there - legacy of USSR. I also will add some text to article to document this. Hi. Please do not add the name of Kobe Bryant's accuser to the article or talk page, as you did here and here. Previous discussions in May 2008 and October 2011 - January 2012 in which other members of the community weighed and determined that under Wikipedia policies such as WP:BLPNAME, WP:AVOIDVICTIM and WP:BLP1E, the names of rape victims and alleged rape victims who wish to remain anonymous should remain out of Wikipedia. Although that talk page discussion is archived, you can read it here. Unless a new consensus discussion is held in which that resolution is reversed, it should not be added to the article or its talk page. Thank you.
