Removing sourced material[edit]

Hi-- If material is supported by a reliable source, it can't be removed just because you or I disagree with it. If other RSs provide alternative viewpoints, then those viewpoints should be reflected alongside with due weight, according to WP:NPOV. Eperoton (talk) 14:50, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia doesn't differentiate academic sources based on religion or ethnicity of the author. Per WP:V and WP:RS, the relevant factors are scholarly reputations of the publisher and the author, which are both quite sufficient here. An attribution may be used per WP:BIASED if the view represents a religious and not academic perspective, but that's not applicable here, and in any case the quote already has a very (perhaps overly) detailed attribution. Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Divorce in Islam‎. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Divorce in Islam, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove the maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Iddah. I have removed unsourced content with explanation.

Your "explanation" doesn't justify what you are doing. You are removing content that is well-referenced. The lede is not required to contain full citations if the claims made are cited elsewhere on the page. Besides that, if you think the issue is that a citation should appear higher up the page, the appropriate response is *not* to delete content. Now please stop it.
