May 2024[edit]

Hello, I'm Trlovejoy. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Women's Group Ottar, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. TRL (talk) 01:59, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Women's Group Ottar. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. TRL (talk) 02:02, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The source for the quote was already included in the body of the article. It is your own responsibility to read articles before using maintenance tools to revert other editors' work. No, it is not recommended to discuss edits first on the article's talk page for the original author of an article when working on the article and starting it from scratch. --Belinda1875 (talk) 02:04, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would be appreciated if you would leave an wp:edit summary (ES) explaining your edit. If the reason for an edit is added to the ES, then people don't need to look for the purpose / sources for an edit. Many edits are reviewed by wp:recent changes patrol (RCP) people who review numerous edits and will not take the time to review the wp:edit history. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 17:41, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave an edit summary[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Adakiko (talk) 17:41, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
