A tag has been placed on Russian Mountains (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. BDD (talk) 18:57, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

Thank you for your recent articles, including Heraldic family. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. This can help you too, as the WikiProject members will often defend your work from deletion and try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information. A tag has been placed on Giedraitis, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.

About citation needed in article.

Dear Altenmann, actually for me its not a principal question how to call this article, but I think its more correct in historical context. About citation - it’s possible to find information from work on origins and history. Called: “The history of Cossack family. Krawtzoff”. It’s version in English prepared for Family meeting. From 2003 and some new records from year 2012. With big number of dates from archives actually not only about this Family, but I’m not sure if its correct to mentioned this work in wiki article because its not a historical work with a big number of prints. Of course You with your number of created articles are Wikiholic in good sound, and for sure You know rules much better. I find that Wikipedia is great idea, but I don't have much time for this project - so that's actually the reason why its so bad with referents in my articles. Best regards! There is so much in that article that is unreferenced that I'm wondering why you needed to take out those specific parts. DYK-Good Article Request for Comment

The article Eric Haines has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The subject does not appear to meet our notability criterion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  --Lambiam 09:27, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Federal prison

@Altenmann: Why would you revert ALL of my additions to Federal prison? The lead does not have any references whatsoever, so doesn't the entire article constitute as original research? Skarz (talk) 00:25, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

  1. Sorry, it was not my intention to revert specifically "all or your". I deleted all general statements beyond undisputable dictionary definition. For two reasons: (1) they are not referenced anywhere in the article (notice, if the article were "normal", we could allow no ref in the intro, as long as it is a summary of the article, whcih is clearly not the case.) (2) I found some statements dubious; I don't want to discuss wikipedians' opinions on the subject: references, please. - Altenmann >t 02:55, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
  2. I The entire article is not OR for the same reason the List of K-1 events: a mere enumeration is not OR (nor it is copyrightble :-) But as long as someone will start to write an article on what a "federal prison" is (in the broad sense, not just US fed prison), I will insist on refs. - Altenmann >t 02:55, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
  3. Please notice I am not against the article (if you notice, in fact I expanded it). But since there are only 3 states which have a concept of "federal prison", I'd rather see a disambig page there. - Altenmann >t 03:01, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Leon Raper

Hi Altenmann,

Could you please contact me. I'm having trouble getting my proposed Wikipedia page approved. I don't think they have background in swing dancing. My page is at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Leon_Raper

One issue Wikipedia keeps complaining about is autobiography. Only Wikipedia knows I wrote the page. If it is published billions of people throughout the world won't have a clue who wrote it. This issue shouldn't even be considered.

I would like to take the Wikipedia issues one issue at a time. If we can't resolve each issue then my page should be deleted.

I am 80 years old have been a close friend with Skippy Blair for over 50 years. I see you posted her page in 2009. I started getting my domain names in 1995. I have helped Skippy many times over the last 50 years. She called me about a year ago wanting me to give her a definition for Flying Lindy. She is a great lady and we are still good friends.

Please look at my current web page and help me if you can. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Leon_Raper
