Shogi[edit]

Hi Akanemoto,

Thanks for your contributions to the shogi article. It's really starting to look nice.

I've removed the floating attribute from some of your tables, because it interferes with the text. If you know how to put some white space around a floating table, that might look better than what I've done.

Also, can you confirm the ban on giving perpetual check?

Thanks, kwami 21:25, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese baseball template[edit]

Hi, I saw your edits and it actually looks much better now. Thanks. More to the point, I noticed that the colors you put where the same colors I had put on Japan Series, and I thought maybe you had gotten them there. Those colors were sort of random, and what I did on Japan Series was change the colors to be more appropriate to the "official" colors of the Leagues. Any thoughts about this, do you like the new colors or the old ones better? I happen to think the old ones looked better, so I'm thinking about reverting what I did, but the new colors are more "accurate" or at least representative. I'd like to hear your thoughts. --Deville (Talk) 20:55, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, please check the page again; I did recoloring it in blue and green now. Thanks. (akanemoto)

Numbers[edit]

Please don't insert that {{numbers}} template all over the place. I think it is too big to show up in those places. I will now raise that issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics, please feel free to comment. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:58, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Administrative divisions of Japan[edit]

Hi Akanemoto,

I want to explain the reason for reverting the change you made to Japan. The section has the title "Administrative divisions" but the regions are not administrative. So I think the Prefectures article is better suited.

There are other ways to write the article, for example renaming the section, and if you have something like that in mind please feel free. I do apologize for undoing your work.

I've nominated {{Japan map}} for deletion. I don't know what the policy is on the Japanese Wikipedia, but here on the English Wikipedia, we only want images that have a clear copyright status. --Carnildo 06:13, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Years[edit]

I see you've done a lot of work on the format for the years (following along behind the information I've added), and your addition of the two newer boxes is a good idea. In all honesty, I'm not happy with the yearbox format, but I can live with it. However, I think that the use of the Table of contents, and the fact that all of the other boxes are off to the right is less atractive than it could be. The table of contents really arent necessary and can be gotten rid of by using __NOTOC__. Next, and this is just my opinion, the boxes would look better running from left to right (right now they look cluttered). •Jim62sch• 16:53, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Akanemoto -- The years up to 5 look great! Is there anyway to center the year box? I tried, and failed. •Jim62sch• 18:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Skip what I said about centering, the formatting looks really good. I picked up where you left off and got to year 40. Take care, •Jim62sch• 22:35, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Akanemoto. I noticed your changes to the year articles. Are there any centralized discussion about the formatting of these articles? Although the templates themselves are great, the layout needs work. ~MDD4696 00:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question about the year templates. The C1YearInTopic is very good, but why have you created the C2, C3 and C4 templates and just included the C1 template in them? Why do we need several templates that look exactly the same? Why not just use the C1 template on all years until the C15, C16 and so on templates come in question? /Ludde 13:51, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Geographical infoboxes[edit]

Hi, thanks for your recent edits to Indonesia. However, we have to decline your contribution, because the page is already full of country-related infoboxes. If you insist to put all oceans and other geographical-related infoboxes, then it is not readable anymore. I don't think adding more infoboxes that Indonesia is in this ocean, that ocean, this sea, that continent, this hemisphere, etc., will give additional information to readers. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 05:00, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, there are at least 12 seas and oceans associated with Indonesia. Are you thus suggesting 12 info boxes for that page. That would be a little silly surely? especially given they provide no information that anyone can just look at a map. But the main reason would have to be 12 seperate info boxes. --Merbabu 05:09, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

いろいろ思いついたはずなのに、思い出せない。

What is the point of these navigation templates? They take up a lot of space in country articles, and I suspect very few editors will want to explore other countries in the same template, when they can click on the relevant sea or ocean to get a list of countries bordering it. They would be useful in articles like North Atlantic Ocean, but you don't need a template when only one article will use it.-gadfium 09:00, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Indonesia[edit]

Please stop adding unecessary infoboxes to Indonesia. I've removed your infoboxes, as they do not give any additional information. I saw you've been blocked in many articles. I'm not going to block you, but if you insist to be a "infobox contributor", then I can't stop other contributors to block you from adding new silly infoboxes. — Indon (reply) — 13:45, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, ok. I created Template:Indo-Iranian-speaking, that are the finish of the template pettern. this is finish, you don't need more block to me. I created, example are Template:Niger-Congo-speaking, that are easy viewing between the nations on spoken the language family. and provide informations the world wide languages distribution in easy-to-understand and blunt terms. I think that are to easy to navigational between the articles. I think that are useful, than list of countries or any others. --Akanemoto 14:22, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think your problems are can be resolution by smallization and thinlization to Template:Navigation. I've tried doing that slimalization, but I can't/don't know thats to on all. I think that templates must/should be exits by I think that are useful than not exists for Wikipedia readers. Ok? Thank you. I seem page Indonesia, that are don't have/including any useful infobox (navigational box) I think the page has more infobox and that on slimalizationed navigational box are very useful access and understand to association/relativity to countries (between countries), on geographics, government/politics, languages, histories, and peoples.--Akanemoto 15:05, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Example, languages, historical origin, time scale relativity, governmental relativity, geographical relativity, and economy, religion, international organaization, country/nation (governmental or others) types, people's colors. writing system, economic lank, award/prize, ceremony/events, peoples who are famous/most/widly known by genre (category), that are can be on list or lists but that are can't intertwine or involved with other lists with other lists on one items,.... Category are don't provide informations without Pagename, that are should be attainment/realization on tablely navigational box. Tablely navigational box can has any text, notes or flags or images or, make line sorted (sorting). that are must neer to tagging. Autohiding table are can that of in don't bottleneck... I think the problem are can be resolution by spot lite/shine the importance or priority of each templates (box). I think must need changing table's size (high), change the conditions! --Akanemoto 15:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can think more selection, the adding name or box in box or... in, 'Level-3 template' to 'Level 2 template', 'Level 1 template', on priority. or 'Geo-Graphical template', 'Govelmental template', 'Historical events template' or any others. And, low priority templates are hidden shine first, click any point to shoiwing (template selection). So, page to show lines (Historical template [BR], Gergraphical template [BR], Historical events template [BR], next, line clicked showing [Formar //// contry's republics] [BR] [Union of //// ] [BR] ..... And, Next of the next are listing the things (contents, links, items, list) I think greate idea to it, don't you see / think?--Akanemoto 15:30, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure if I can understand you. If you want to create an infobox, then you have to consider that the infobox adds more information that cannot be put as ordinary category. Think about hierarchical objects, such as species->genus->family. Think about timeline, such as presidential infobox, where this subject is a president of a country who is preceded by whom or succeded by whom. That's what is called a navigational infobox. Your infobox is silly, because they are not navigational infoboxes. They are just a grouping of some objects/things/countries. Nobody needs your infoboxes. Why don't you just use a category of country in this sea, in that ocean, countries that some of the population speaks this language, etc. — Indon (reply) — 15:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ok ok. Your comments are can to agree. But on easy to viewing that are compact and smally, simple are should being. Category are weariness, boredom, don't interasting. I like navigational box than that. Just only. --Akanemoto 15:40, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Category has more compact? to than that?
noh.
I think must needed 'Template only page' by genre and page! That are has subject by genre, one subject has sevelal template and at front on the page are excerpt of Wikipedia's page. Template-page:Indea Indea is .... (excerpt, cut of Wikipedia's page, front part) ==Geogrephical templates== (to go to another Template only page)
Template only project are needed! --Akanemoto 15:50, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey I created that't sample. See User:Akanemoto/Templates/india it's also. You want to simple to the pages, I doing want to another simple page on the another! --Akanemoto 16:07, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Navigational templates[edit]

Several people have now asked you to stop putting these navigational templates on country articles. The templates take up a lot of screen space and make the pages larger, but they offer very little benefit and would in almost all cases be better replaced by a category. You say above that categories are uninteresting, but we are looking for functionality here. I asked you before to discuss the value of each template before creating it, but I see no evidence that you have done so. Please stop creating these templates.

I am also concerned by some of your responses to people on this page above. I understand that you are not a native English speaker, and that what you write in English may not always be quite what you mean, but you appear to be insulting people. This is not at all acceptable.

Neighbors template[edit]

I have just removed your infobox that apparently shows a state's geographics neighbors from Germany. Please do not add this kind of templates, they are not necessary (maps work better for this kind of information). The country articles (especially in Europe) already suffer from having too many templates, so please do not add any further ones. Thank you, Kusma (討論) 09:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm thinking that are useful to going contiguity countries. See Winnipeg, that has including that templates for listing contiguity cities, by directions. User easy going on visually, N-E-W-S directions are maked into one tables. You can understand that merit? I think that are very good in interregion links and small/too big countries. --Akanemoto 09:36, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I see some point in it for cities, but not for countries. All of these links are already on the country pages, usually there is also a map that shows (much better than the template you add) where the neighboring countries are. Kusma (討論) 10:12, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • Same in as countries. See Russia, that showing the templates, very good visually are exits in the pages. That showing countries, but not only countries, that including Sea, Ocean, and interregional links. If Germany that not has, but Germany are a part of Europe, the template are needed for compliance of all pages of countries of Europe. --Akanemoto 10:18, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • The template you add is an unnecessary distraction in Germany as well as in all other European countries. Kusma (討論) 11:03, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • unnecessary ? Anyone can decide that? Hey, I think that are necessary, because it I doing creation of that by my all times for works that. That are long times at all. I think that are good, at all point. Why you can delete that? I'm thinking that are good at still now. ... And delete are easy. Creation are more works needed. You have baby (duty) to talk to me for the deletation. --Akanemoto 11:11, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
            • I explained in the edit summary. A map is a better way to show this information, especially for large places like Russia. The neighboring countries are usually mentioned in the text already, and it is not necessary to mention them again. The country pages are usually too long already and have too many templates, so removing things can be an improvement. That you worked hard to create them is not a reason to keep them if they do not really benefit the article. Kusma (討論) 11:20, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
              • I also explained for recreation in my edit summary, you don't get it, and keep delete in same summry. That are don't called 'replay'. And maps are better in that case, but another case, that are I explained (too big or small countries), distraction-based linking are more better to natural movement. I like that than. This is maked by each templates (tables), that are easy editting with the templates. --Akanemoto 11:28, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
                • That has value on that natural movement. You can understand to that? Germany and France, normaly the countries don't have connection. But by the templates exits, the pages are linking both to, in sorted to distraction on the templatation. All page has same template, going anywhere to anywhere on to every point in the world. You can't feel greate from that? --Akanemoto 11:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • I see that you have been asked before not to add unwanted templates to country articles. Perhaps it would be a good idea if you could suggest your template and standardization ideas at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Countries first? Kusma (討論) 11:08, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • I don't have any thinks to joining that project, but still I'm thinking that my minds. --Akanemoto 11:15, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
            • I couldn't understand the last sentence. Could you try to explain again what you mean? Kusma (討論) 11:20, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
              • I written that for 'I already have the minds'. --Akanemoto 11:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding images to Navbox templates[edit]

Hi again Akanemoto,
Please stop adding images to Navbox templates (i.e. those using {{Navigation}} and related CSS classes) as at present they can cause strange linewrapping depending on screen/window sizes. Thank you. Regards, David Kernow (talk) 05:24, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ok. And I think the template can be remaked with {{NavigationBox}}, is one of betters. Mind if I recreate it to be, I can? I think to recreate with it. --Akanemoto 05:41, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think adding {{clear}} is more one of solutions. Please think for select. --Akanemoto 05:49, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I more recreated of {{Southern Asia}}. I think to doing that. Please gevin more comments. Thanks. --Akanemoto 05:56, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'll see how they look here (with different windows etc) and let you know. Perhaps those for entire continents are unnecessary...?  Yours, David (talk) 06:23, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
...Not keen on using images with {{NavigationBox}} as this template breaks the titlebar. See {{Countries of Asia}} for an alternative. Regards, David (talk) 08:46, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • [1] Akanemoto, please STOP adding images in this way until there has been at least some discussion to do so!
Using images with {{NavigationBox}} breaks the titlebar!
It also removes the means to view/discuss/edit or hide the templates!
Respond to and resolve people's enquiries before continuing to follow a course of action!
    David Kernow (talk) 08:52, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok. Now I'm thinking about the templates. I hope more better way to be selected for make the templates. And your template's style are must be selected in some case, I think. I don't any doing to that your writings, Please free to replace my template's forms. [written in your messages is in prevs. now your renewal message is got, thanks.] --Akanemoto 09:04, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I realize you're trying to help, so I'm not going to revert all your changes "en masse". However, as and when I find one of these templates using {{NavigationBox}} and an image that breaks the titlebar, I'll convert it to the {{Navigation}} format currently used by (e.g.) {{Countries of Asia}}. Will that be okay...?   (Unfortunately, the [hide]/[show] facility seems to have been removed from the NavHead class at the moment, but I hope it will return soon...)  Bye for now, David (talk) 09:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok. Don't worry. I think very good for that. --Akanemoto 09:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't want/need to order to meticulous. I'm happy to putted images with the templates that are good to easy-to-learning mearnings of one of templates. thanks for your working! --Akanemoto 09:25, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • And now I doing that your stylazations. Please given comment for more adjustment. --Akanemoto 09:30, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I realize that are hard work, HAHA! --Akanemoto 09:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • And I think I doing to replace that. I see your forms, I think that are better. But in titlebar non-break case, and if template is narrow, I think use now forms are good for save image's size. I think that, but please select free for yours. thanks, [this message is written in prev times. timing cross! hahaha.] --Akanemoto 09:14, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:PB120063.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PB120063.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:PB120069.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PB120069.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:07, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

templates[edit]

I appreciate your efforts, but slapping half a dozen templates on the bottom of articles is not really helpful, and just clutters up the article. We have categories to categorize articles, and if you like, you could put your templates on category pages. In any case, I advise you to seek for consensus before you embark on adding templates to a lot of articles. dab () 08:24, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Fukudai wall 5.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fukudai wall 5.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Indon (reply) — 11:15, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:PB090073.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PB090073.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. benwildeboer D(talk - contribs) 04:14, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Akanemoto,

I've decided to remove your "Distances from other countries section" from the Rwanda article, as in my opinion it's over long and doesn't add much of interest to the article. If you're really keen on this, then such a section would have have to be made for every country article on Wikipedia and would have to be properly discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Countries.
