This article is well put together, but I do have a few suggestions. 73.61.22.18 (talk) 01:10, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). In this Wikipedia article about mainstream media, some of the references are reliable, such as Academia.edu. A lot of the sources are outdated and from a couple years ago, it would be beneficial for the sources to be recent or up to date. Some of the sources are Forbes.com, Business Insider, Z Magazine, BBC.com, and TheWaltDisneyCompany.com. A lot of the links don’t work, and the ones that do are sources such as magazines or media sites that aren't as reliable as scholarly or government websites. There are about 2 or 3 scholarly articles on this Wikipedia article. This 2021 article from Harvard is an appropriate and reliable source of information on mainstream media. “Index of US Mainstream Media Ownership.” Index of US Mainstream Media Ownership, https://projects.iq.harvard.edu/futureofmedia/index-us-mainstream-media-ownership.[reply]

The vast majority of the information in this Wikipedia article comes from a variety of news or media websites. These sources aren’t exactly neutral, they can be biased since they are magazines or news websites. The news websites linked are known to biased, such as BBC news and NewsCorp.com.

The majority of the information in the article is relevant to the topic, and everything was straightforward. The article provided information on mainstream media history, media company statistics, public distrust in the media, and the impact of media on society today.

The article is mostly neutral, there was a comment on how republicans are more distrusting in the media than democrats, but I don’t think that makes this article heavily biased. Other than that there was no political commentary or heavily biased information.

Most of the sources in this article are from 2018, 2019, and some from 1997 and 2004. The sources definitely should be updated and more recent. It would be appropriate to have statistics from the past year or recent years. There is a lot of information that could be added, the length of each section is relatively short. The impact of media in society has grown significantly since the article’s resources were last updated. 73.61.22.18 (talk) 01:10, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
