Ideology On Vandalism[edit]
Described in one word: stupid.
Why vandalize? What's the point? You already know your IP address is recorded here, and WHOIS "knows where you live". Do you want everyone to know that 123.45.67.890 from Citizensville, England (fake IP address, BTW; don't even think one with that combination is possible) is a real idiot? Get you a billboard and write what you want, not here. (Besides, they get blocked anyway; I don't see the fun in that)
Notable Quotes[edit]
The quotes are arranged in alphabetical order, by the quoter's surname. Anonymous quotes are listed at the bottom of this section.
- "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." - Charles Darwin
- "If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
- "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln
- "The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price". - Vince Lombardi
- "From woman, man is born; within woman, man is conceived; to woman he is engaged and married. Woman becomes his friend; through woman, the future generations come. When his woman dies, he seeks another woman; to woman he is bound. So why call her bad? From her, kings are born. From woman, woman is born; without woman, there would be no one at all." - Guru Nanak
- "Without music life would be a mistake." - Friedrich Nietzsche
- "Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That's what we're doing." - Jimmy Wales
- "No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow." - Alice Walker
- "If you ask a stupid question, you will get a stupid answer." - Anon
- "To someone you may be the world, but to the world you may be someone." - Anon
- "The Government is like the Leaning Tower of Pisa: it leans but does not fall." - can't remember the quoter's name...
Today's featured article[edit]
The double sovereign is a gold coin of the United Kingdom with a nominal value of two pounds sterling (£2). It features the reigning monarch on its obverse and, most often, Benedetto Pistrucci's depiction of Saint George and the Dragon on the reverse (pictured). It was rarely issued in the first century and a half after its debut in 1820, usually in a new monarch's coronation year or to mark the institution of a new coinage portrait of the monarch. In addition to the usual coinage in Britain, specimens were struck at Australia's Sydney Mint in 1887 and 1902. Most often struck as a proof coin, the double sovereign has been issued for circulation in only four years, and few examples worn from commercial use are known. It is now a collector and bullion coin, and has been struck by the Royal Mint most years since 1980. In some years, it has not been issued and the Royal Mint instead placed gold versions of the commemorative £2 piece in the annual gold proof sets. (Full article...)
In the news[edit]

Sorting in categories
When linking an article to a category, you can tell the category how to sort the article alphabetically by using a piped link. For example, [[Category:Baroque composers|Bach, Johann Sebastian]] will alphabetize Johann Sebastian Bach in Category:Baroque composers under B instead of J. – – Read more:
