John E. Turrentine (born April 2, 1952) in Atlanta, Georgia is a medical doctor, ordained minister, PhD of American History, and MBA. He is known for coining the term Minimally Invasive Vaginal Hysterectomy (MVH). He invented MVH and taught the procedure for Johnson & Johnson Endosurgery. He first taught the procedure in Cincinnati at Johnson & Johnson and then throughout the United States. Turrentine helped develop the stamping device used to perform the procedure. The procedure allows the hysterectomy to be performed in less time and less recovery time than any other form of hysterectomy. Turrentine first published MVH in several of his books "Clinical Protocols in Obstetrics and Gynecology 2nd Edition" with illustrations on how to perform the procedure in 2003 after several thousand successful procedures then described the operation further in his book, "Surgical Transcriptions and Pearls in Obstetrics and Gynecology 2nd Edition," and with further illustrations in his book "Clinical Protocols in Obstetrics and Gynecology 3rd Edition"

Turrentine later developed protocols for the use of off-label medicines to treat Covid during the Covid pandemic, successfully treating over 15,000 patients between 2020 and 2023.

Education[edit]

Turrentine began his college education at Shorter College, followed by continued education at numerous institutions including University of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his undergraduate degree. He went on to complete medical school at Medical College of Georgia (MD). He pursed his medical internship at University of Southern California Women's Hospital followed by Atlanta Medical Center for residency. Afterwards he pursed his Doctorate of Ministry at Trinity Seminary, University of Liverpool. He received a PhD from Trinity College. He completed his MBA at University of Texas at Dallas.

Occupation[edit]

Turrentine held numerous occupational titles throughout his career. He was an accomplished Medical Doctor (MD), Clinical Professor, Minister, Aviator who performed Aviation Medicine for 25 years, Scuba Instructor and Undersea medicine
