New, in time, long enough, sourced, inline hook citations check out, no apparent copyvios, QPQ done. Violetriga, I would suggest you describe Dale as English in the lead, and make a point of stating where the murder took place; the West Mercia Police are mentioned (but where's that?), and almost as an afterthought, but there's nothing else in the lead. --Usernameunique (talk) 00:09, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

Back again. If there's no evidence that the gold bars even existed, I don't think we should go with this hook. Let's think of something else that's verified. How about:
ALT3: ... that Simon Dale lived in only one room and the kitchen of his 50-room Hopton Heath mansion, where he was found bludgeoned to death in 1987? Yoninah (talk) 23:05, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for looking at this, Yoninah. violetriga, first, linking to a Google Group isn't great. The original source is archived here, and should be linked (and referenced) as such. Second, saying he "only" lived in two rooms is too strong. The source says "Dale lived mainly in the kitchen, sleeping upstairs in a four-poster bed. The rest of the house was half-empty". The hook should be qualified slightly (e.g., Simon Dale spent most of his time in one room...) to reflect the source. --Usernameunique (talk) 01:38, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
