Template:AE sanction/topicban
Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban[edit]
The following topic ban now applies to you:
You are indefinitely banned from editing anything related to Main Page, broadly interpreted.
|sanction=
Sanction terms go here; for example:
You have been sanctioned |rationale=
rationale or permalink to associated AE thread
This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the
and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please read WP:TBAN to understand what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period to enforce the ban.
|topic=
#code or link to arbitration decision
If you wish to appeal the ban, please read the appeals process. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you.
This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:AE sanction/topicban}}). |
This template is a convenient, standardised method of notifying an editor that they have had discretionary sanctions or arbitration sanction(s) in the form of a topic ban imposed on them. Only uninvolved administrators may impose topic bans on another editor under the terms of an arbitration policy, and sanctions must be given in accordance with the procedure at Wikipedia:Contentious topics or a specific arbitration case.
The template requires three parameters:
{{subst:AE sanction/topicban
| sanction = <description of sanction imposed on recipient of notice>
| rationale = for the reasons provided in response to [{{fullurl:Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement|oldid=REVISIONID#USERNAME}} this arbitration enforcement request].
| decision = <decision code – see below for list> OR <link to final decision page, *without* #Final_decision anchor>
}}
A blank copy of the template is below, so you do not have to delete the explanatory text from the above:
{{subst:AE sanction/topicban
| sanction =
| rationale =
| decision =
}}
Remember you need to use this template in a "new message" on user talk pages; because a header is provided by this template, when you use it you don't have to enter a subject heading. The template must always be substituted. Your signature is automatically included.
The "decision code" is one of the same decision codes used in the other standardised Arbitration Enforcement templates:
Note that the ap and tpm topic codes are interchangeable. tpm is preferred.
