Recent changes[edit]

"A growing body of evidence suggests that the manuscript was commissioned by Bishop Blois to be donated to a high ranking woman, possibly Queen Eleanore of Aquitaine" ... What is this evidence? ... "who lived at *Winchester Palace in the appropriate period" What dates? "The fact that the book is presented in both Occitan (the language of the French Trouviers)" ... Isn't it Anglo-Norman French, not Occitan? ... "and Latin, further points to Blois." Blois the place, or Blois the person? (Blois the place is not in the region where Occitan was spoken, and I can see no reason why Henry would want an Occitan version. PeterKidd (talk) 13:33, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, good to see you back! I agree - the changes were introduced a week or so ago [1]. Haney says "Old French", with various citations, for the psalms, but "Anglo-Norman French" elsewhere (both p.8). I suppose if it were Occitan that might vaguely "point to" Eleanor. But referencing certainly needed. Her main period of residence at Winchester was as a prisoner, all after Henry's death.
