Doctor Who Ripoff?[edit]

The general plot, characters, and settings of The Lost Saucer bear a heavy resemblance to that of the first stories of the British science-fiction series Doctor Who. The plot of the first episode parallels An Unearthly Child (the first episode of Who), and the lack of ability by the main characters to pilot their malfunctioning ship properly parallels the Doctor's inability to pilot his malfunctioning Ship.

Well, the problem with that pre-Doctor Who, this was a standard time-travel plot, because if you recall, years later the same premise was used with the animated series, Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, where Cupcake (25th Century woman), invites the gang into her malfunctioning time machine. Thus, they were desperately attempting to head back to 1957. Also, if one recalls, 'The Time Tunnel,' also implemented this concept as well.Fangarius (talk) 05:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If somebody could add this notation to the article (as I cannot seem to format it well), I'd be grateful. Daniel Benfield (talk) 01:42, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We can't add it to the article based on your belief. We would need reference to the comparison in a reliable source. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:49, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
yeah, it definitely is a dr who rip off, the broad idea is anyway... ut I can't see a reliable reference for it. Deathlibrarian (talk) 07:57, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DVD Release?[edit]

Somebody added that bit about a DVD release in Jan. 2011. Five and a half years later, can it be removed? It didn't happen. (July 5 2016)
