Comments[edit]

Currently ,this article uses exclusively North American terminology('resident' etc.), whereas the term 'Teaching Hospital' is used throughout the English speaking world. Can someone change it to make it more global please

The TV show "House" also takes place in a teaching hospital, but I feel the list is complete enough as it is. If anyone feels otherwise, they can feel free to add to the list of pop-culture teaching hospitals. 69.65.205.65 (talk) 03:40, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The above comment was made when this article was USA-only, and is no longer applicable. The article about which it was made has since been renamed to reflect "in the United States" Pi314m (talk) 02:41, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect definition for North America[edit]

I have the same issue with this page that I have with the "list of university hospitals page" The definition is wrong according to north American definitions. Teaching Hospitals and University Hospitals are not synonymous. University Hospitals are not hospitals affiliated with a University-they are hospitals who's mission is to train doctors via their Hospital and University. They are inseparable entities. Teaching hospitals may also be community or regional "University Affiliated" hospitals. These are based on affiliation agreements that can be terminated or changed over time. See FREIDA and search the database-they have 3 different definitions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Impact2d (talkcontribs) 07:39, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
