Official Preppy Handbook, 1980

Okay, seriously, wtf is going on with the Thread Count section? Who in god's name wrote it and how can we stop them from writing anything else ever? Is it one sentence? Is it two? Why are there so many parentheticals? I'm having trouble here.

I don't know who typed the above, but what is "Marino" fiber? I think there is a sheep variety called "Merino"? Also, most of this article reads like a nice eighth grade paper. Huw Powell (talk) 03:51, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

The threadcount paragraph is unreferenced, so I've just deleted it. I agree that the whole article could use a rewrite, but I personally don't have enough time or knowledge of this subject.Dialectric (talk) 08:39, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

What did i just read???

Much of the information is correct, and I'm always of the opinion that any article that helps inform a reader looking for specific info, no matter how grotesque, is better than no article. That said, it is in desperate need of rewording in ever section. I've deleted the portion on "Fashionability" as it was pretty much just the original author talking about how Mad Men made it cool again, or whatever, but the first lines in the first section are both horrendous and top priority, as it's the first thing anyone will read. The second sentence's "the lines run from lower left to upper right" is driving me insane. What lines?? They haven't been mentioned at all! Punctuation is a mess too.

If anyone's reading this and cares about suits, or menswear, or the standard of quality on what may be the single most important website, please adopt this article. LucilleRemillard (talk) 17:47, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
