The Origin[edit]

@Kanzas Bear, you claim that the dynasty is Persian. OK, please provide the some quotes from the sources you mention, so that we can see what is the real basis of your claims. Thanks. -- Ashot  (talk) 16:59, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I claim??
Sartre, Maurice, The Middle East under Rome, (Harvard University Press, 2005), 23; "The Commagene kings claimed to be descended from the Orontids, a powerful Iranian family...".[1]
Allsen, Thomas T., The Royal Hunt in Eurasian history, (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2006), 37; "The Orontid dynasty of Armenia, whose ruling house was of Achaemenid origin.."The+Royal+Hunt+in+Eurasian+history+Orontid&hl=en&ei=vD-zTdnpDOXZ0QGc5sX-BA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CC0Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false
Need anymore?? Perhaps where you can go to find the books??
Odd, how I am expected to use the talk page, yet certain editors are not bound by that requirement..... --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:09, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to be very angry, but I don't have any share in what has made you angry :). "You claim", doesn't mean that you don't have arguments like those provided. But I guess the issue of origins is solved in another talk page (Talk:Orontid Dynasty), isn't it? -- Ashot  (talk) 12:24, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
LOL. --Kansas Bear (talk) 01:14, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, following Talk:Orontid Dynasty consensus guidelines also here, makes some sense. Discussing the same "origin" question across multiple topic articles is not constructive. AgadaUrbanit (talk) 12:32, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About Satrapy of Armenia[edit]

Hi, 92slim! I have some questions about this article, if you don't mind. As a result of the changes, just I have noticed:

  • Սատրապական Հայաստան, Satrapakan Hayastan but not Հայաստանի սատրապություն Hayastani Satraputyun. I have never seen Hayastani Satraputyun. Besides that, in the books and textbooks of History I have seen only the first.
  • About Europe and Eurasia I don't have anything to say
  • Satrapy, but not Kingdom. In fact, it was a kingdom. In lithography the Satraps were not only governors, but also kings. It is marked, that Yervanduni kingdom was ruling in Armenia from 570 to 201 B.C.
  • Yervanduni Kingdom and Urartu. Just from the sentence up, you can see that Satrapy was the part, the period of the kingdom from 522 to 331 BC. Before that, there were 3 kings - Yervand/Oront, Tigran and Vahagn. What about Urartu, it was not an Armenian kingdom, just inhabited by Armenian tribes.
I will be glad to receive your answer back. Please, don't forget to notice my nick.
Best regards, Hayk.arabaget (talk) 19:33, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Hayk.arabaget: The reason I edited it back is because you removed the OR tags and brought back past errors. As for Urartu, this is about the past kingdoms (Media as well) section that was included in the article - nothing to do with its supposed Armenian relation. The article now states that the Satrapy was part of the Orontid kingdom; feel free to modify these details. Ps. I moved this here as I prefer not to store article related talks on my talk page. --92slim (talk) 20:28, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, 92slim. Thanks for answer. And what about the Armenian name?--Hayk.arabaget (talk) 22:39, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean the Satrapakan Hayastan translation? I think that's ok too mate, as long as the article is presented well in English. :) --92slim (talk) 00:37, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No, it is not 92slim. There was not Hayastani Satraputyun, and if you show me this name, I would be grateful. Besides that, I have always seen Satrapakan Hayastan. So I think I should change the name, and I hope it will not make the quality of the article worse )))--Hayk.arabaget (talk) 07:40, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
