Justification for disambiguation between "Samarra" and "Samara" culture entries.[edit]

Both of these entries contain "not to be confused with" statements referring to the other. However, apart from a geographical distance well within the range of horses, it's not made clear why these two cultures are considered to be different. The dates given for their existence appear to overlap as well. 186.176.8.94 (talk) 17:17, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Being "well within the range of horses" does not mean that two cultures with a similar name are the same. These names are modern names; had Samarra ware first been discovered at site XYZ, it had been called XYZ culture. Would you have made the same argument if one was called Samara culture and the other XYZ culture, even if they had just been 100 km apart...? Zoeperkoe (talk) 06:24, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I don't think that horses were ridden at that time, so horse riding range is not really an issue here... Zoeperkoe (talk) 06:33, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
