Begining of this page[edit]

I am working to expand this page over the next week. I am looking both for soucres and critism. If anyone has either please post a comment.

Revision[edit]

An updated version of this page is almost completed. It includes a better explanation of the situation in Egypt prior to the 1164 campaign as well as reworking the campaigns to add better better dates and more information. The section about Saladin's reforms and time spent and vizier and ruler of Egypt will also be better clarified

Once this revision is posted and the article is made more complete (including footnotes and citing the additional sources used) I am planning on adding a link to the main "Saladin" page under the Egypt section.

p.s. Thank you for the typo revisions Welsh

Is this necessary?[edit]

Is this page really necessary? Why not work this into the Saladin article first? It could use the help. Adam Bishop (talk) 06:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe[edit]

I am in the process of finally posting my more complete edition and it should be done by the end of the night. I greatly appreciate the work you and Al Ameer son have done on the Saladin article. To be perfectly honest I don't know where this article will stand in light of the massive revisions to Saladin's page as of the last week. Personally, I believe that Saladin's decade of involvement in Egypt is one of the most under studied periods of his life, but possibly his most important. I hope to provide all relevant information (probably more) in a clear and concise fashion. I appreciate if you could look at the finished product (which will be up by 6. P.M. Pacific Standard time) and share you opinions and expertise. I will certainly consider integrating this article with the Saladin main page, but I am going to try to contact Al Ameer son first since he seems to be taking the lead on that much needed renovation.EvitoSol (talk) 09:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
