Plot description[edit]

The plot description is only true with hindsight. For example she takes him to a cafe, tells him what it is called, and introduces him to people; this all appears fairly normal when it happens. It is only after the murder that he finds out that there is no cafe of that name, and that people he met at the cafe deny having the name he knew them by. We only discover after he comes back to the Riviera that the people at the cafe are gangsters (the MP.40 in a wine barrel is a clue). Similarly, he initially knows the brother as a lawyer. It is only very late in the film that we learn that he is a gangster.-- Toddy1 (talk) 21:26, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
