I removed that he studied in Paris as this would have simply been the Summer Term of his first year at UCL. He in fact studied at University College London obtaining a B.A. in French. He went on to do a PH.D. on Camus but did not complete it. I can't quote sources, but I know this because I was in his year of French at UCL, and was a friend of his until 1966, when our paths went different ways. 78.146.228.55 (talk) 10:28, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
