General Edit[edit]

Restructured text to remove unnecessary repetition and re-grouped information under relevant headings. Introduced 'Bushland Reserve' as a distinct category given its significance in the suburb.

Added minor textual enhancements, miscellaneous information, collage image and some external links, notably the Newcastle City Council's web page to Blackbutt Reserve.

Removed reference to the soccer team 'now' being the premiership club (when exactly is unknown), in favour of a general reference to the club being a premiership-winning club; which preserves this element of the club's history.

Note 2's 'RAAF Ensign' is observed to be a dead link, but have not changed hoping someone may be able to locate the relevant info elsewhere.

Major rework - 25 March 2012[edit]

I've just completed a major rework of this article, something I actually started in July last year.[1] The rework includes:

  • replacement and expansion of the infobox
  • addition of, and corrections to existing, citations and wikilinks
  • conversion of external links in the prose to citations, or moving them to the "External links" section
  • fixing a dead link
  • addition of {{citation needed}} where appropriate
  • restructuring the article to something that is more appropriate for an encyclopaedia with copyediting and expansion of the prose
  • re-organising the history into chronological order
  • removal of tourist guide type material, especially in the section on Blackbutt Reserve, which I've renamed appropriately
  • date format consistency
  • removal of some minor copyvios
and so on.....

Unfortunately, lack of space after removal of the tourist information meant that File:FlyingFoxesAtBlackbuttReserve.JPG had to be sacrificed in favour of a better image showing various aspects of Blackbutt Reserve. I've created an appropriate category at commons, added all images to that and included {{commons category}} in the article so File:FlyingFoxesAtBlackbuttReserve.JPG can still be located. If some more encyclopaedic content can be added to the section, the image could probably be reinstated. --AussieLegend (talk) 13:27, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
