Revert of User:222.153.31.90's edits[edit]

I have again reverted this users POV edits. It is disruptive to continually add a meaningless stat, i.e., that Laws candidates won a by-election with " 26% of the vote". This is totally irrelevant when there were several candidates, and needs to be seen in context, which is that Hogan got 57 per cent more votes than the runner up in her ward, and Taylor got 70 per cent more votes than the runner up in his ward. It is irrelevant too that NZ First got 13 per cent of parliamentary seats in 1996. I have also removed the speculative POV allegation that something was "possibly due to Laws and others manipulation of internal voting processes", which has absolutely no relevance to the context of the sentence. A claim attributed to Laws, not cited or referenced, has also been excised. User:222.153.31.90 has only five edits in total and may not know about talk pages, but I will leave a message on his talk page to read this page. Moriori 21:24, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who[edit]

First off, they were antagonists, not protagonists which these days means supporters. Whatever, who were the two people who unsuccessfully sued Laws? Shouldn't we name them? Moriori 03:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RadioLIVE page[edit]

I added Michael's RadioLIVE page as an external link a few weeks ago - but it has now been removed. Why is this? It contains nothing but Michael Laws content. Does anyone really take issue with this being linked from here? Duncwilson (talk) 00:58, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wanganui/Whanganui Spelling[edit]

Could the idiot changing all the Wanganui spelling to Whanganui please note that the h-less spelling is official, the choice of Wanganui residents, and of most of its organisations including the Wanganui District Coiuncil.

Stop being a prat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.167.159 (talk) 07:02, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Both spellings are currently official. The spelling with an H reflects the meaning of the name and the wish of the tangata whenua. It just happpens to be almost (but not quite) unheard in the local pronunciation. The main prat in this issue is Laws. --Hugh7 (talk) 22:54, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Update needed[edit]

"He also championed the council's successful search for "soft water" for the Wanganui community, describing it as "a personal crusade", and the construction of the Abelard and Heloise water bores at Westmere. The district council has estimated the savings at $240 per household, and the switch-over is planned for late 2009."

Did it ever eventuate? Moriori (talk) 22:22, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I came here looking in vain for information about his most recent public issues; an affair with an "inappropriate" woman, striking a councillor, and his public statements about suicide. These have all been mentioned in the media. --Hugh7 (talk) 23:08, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is a wiki. If you've found the info in the media, you might as well add it to this article. Please use citation templates, e.g. what is quoted in the next entry below. Schwede66 23:49, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article quality[edit]

Despite this article being rather detailed, it doesn't rate any higher than Start class due to its lack of referencing. If somebody has the time and inclination to improve on this, here's a cite sources 101. If you are quoting a news article, copy and paste the following into the article in the appropriate location (usually after a full stop) and fill out as many of the fields as you can (refer to the relevant talk page to see what the labels refer to):

<ref>{{cite news

|title=
|first=
|last=
|newspaper=
|date=
|url=

}}</ref>

Refer to other relevant cite pages if you are not dealing with news, but with web content or books. As a guide, there should be at least one source given per paragraph. If you have questions about this, please get in touch on my talk page. It should be easy enough to turn this into a higher quality article. Schwede66 00:59, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
