Non-aviator[edit]

In the Hap Arnold article, it mentions that Patrick was a non-aviator, yet the photo in this article shows Patrick wearing some sort of wings. I realize that it may be observer wings or something of that nature, but does anyone have any info on this? Is it possible that he took pilot training after he was assigned to the Air Service? --rogerd 16:00, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He learned to fly in 1921. See:
