Confusion[edit]

from the article: "Marinus is cited as Marinus consule dux Gaiete in a charter of 12 November 999 in which the Emperor Otto II ruled against him in a case with the Abbey of Montecassino," but the article also says he dies in 984; the charter makes it seem that Marinus was still alive in 999. Can anyone shed any light on this?--FeanorStar7 (talk) 11:44, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
