Requested move[edit]

The result of the move request was moved to Lucan (disambiguation); also move Marcus Annaeus Lucanus to Lucan Aervanath (talk) 13:26, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Unless there are objections, I would like to move Marcus Annaeus Lucanus to Lucan and move the existing Lucan to Lucan_(disambiguation). Jiggz84 02:34, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that is a good idea. When people look up Lucan, they think of the poet. If you type in "Julius Caesar", you aren't going to get a page asking if you mean the crater on the moon. I plan to carry out this if nobody disagrees. If you do, please type here. 15lsoucy (talk) 14:29, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added the == Requested move == section heading (above) and proposed both moves at Wikipedia:Requested moves#25 May 2009. - 58.8.240.77 (talk) 16:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The Irish town is much less well known; the Anglo-Irish noble family has three or four notorious members, but they are normally called Lord Lucan. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 17:32, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I found this on the Marcus Annaeus Lucanus talk page and thought I should post it here, "The Publius Ovidius Naso article is at Ovid, the Publius Vergilius Maro article is at Virgil, the Quintus Horatius Flaccus article is at Horace—why is this one not at "Lucan"? Deor 04:53, 1 March 2007 (UTC)". As you can see, it is ludicrous that this poet is not at the article under his anglicized name. --15lsoucy (talk) 20:48, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • But how often do people need to look up about Marcus Annaeus Lucanus rather than any of the other Lucans? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any reason why Marcus Annaeus Lucanus couldn't be moved to Lucan (poet) and the disambiguation page be left where it is? Lucan (poet) already has 50+ incoming links. 58.8.8.75 (talk) 12:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
