Mistake[edit]

I'm putting this here because I don't have the perfect sources yet. The article says "The Israeli town of Lavi was built on Lubya's remains." This is not true; Lavi was built about 1.5km to the north-east of the Lubya's remains. The town of Giv'at Avni is even closer; about 1km to the east. The site of the village is not built on; it is within the South Africa Forest which is part of the Lavie Forest. Zerotalk 11:29, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I have change it to what Khalidi says, instead. Understandably, Khalidi did not get the Giv'at Avni info into his 1992-book. Huldra (talk)

The etymology of Lubya[edit]

The name of the now destroyed Palestinian village of Lubya was based on the Hebrew name of the settlement Levy or Lavi which was a Jewish settlement during the Talmudic/Mishnaic era of around the 1st to the 4th centuries C.E. I suggest that an etymology section be added. If no objection is presented in 48 hours I will add an etymology section. Guy355 (talk) 15:38, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In Arabic Lubya means "bean" and that is sourced in the article. Do you have a reliable source that traces Lubya's etymology to the ancient Hebrew "Levy"? Al Ameer (talk) 16:27, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
