Numbering[edit]

Today the hans in the list are numbered. I don't think this is a good idea. Because the table is sortable and the numbers may be confusing. On the other hand by further additions new hans may be added to the list and the numbers may be completely meaningless. I'll call the editor for the rationale. Lots of errors on this page[edit]

1. Şarapsa Han is on the Alanya-Antalya road (not the Antalya-Isparta road). 2. Evdir Han is spelt wrong (at the moment it says Edvir). 3. Sahipata Han is on the Afyon-Akşehir road (not in Ilgın, it's in Sultandağı). 4. Yeni Han - what's that? Possibly should be Ak Han? 5. Pazar Han is on the Tokat-Zile road (not the Antalya-Denizli road)

There are probably other errors. The whole page is very misleading and needs a good clean-up, since Turkey wants them on the UNESCO World Heritage List, already on the Tentative List - http://whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/1403/ GPS co-ordinates would be useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.236.126 (talk) 22:21, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're probably right . But it so happens that the list is sourced. (A serious source) The problem I understand stems from the fact that the roads are not the modern roads, but the roads used in the medieval age. Pazar and Yeni Han are common names and there may be more more than one such han. Thanks for replying so quickly, Nedim Ardoğa. It is good to hear that your are on the case. I would be interested in knowing what your source is. I'm not an expert, but I have visited 21 of the hans on the list (and several more, possibly on the list but known by different names).

I suspect that Boz, Yeni and Karasungur are in fact all the same, which I know as Ak Han (unless there is another han at Denizli?).

I can't find any other reference to Okla Han on the internet, I think I might know it at Öresin Han.

The source is " İsmet İlter: Türk Hanları, TC Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü, Ankara, 1969" In other words the source is a government sponsored source. The author has visited the hans. There are plans and photos of the hans. I don't think he'd be so careless to confuse Tokat for Antalya. Anyway I'll check the source again. After your comment I checked each han.

Şarapsa Han: You're right. It on Alanya road.I changed it accordingly.
Evdir Han. In the text it is Edvir and in a separate list it is Evdir. I added the name Evdir in parathesis
Sahipata Han: No change in this one. Sahipata Han is in Ilgın (Well what you call Sahipata Han maybe Ishaklı Han and it is already in the list. )
Yen Han: It is indeed Akhan. I added the name Akhan in parenthesis.
Pazar Han: You're right. Actually there are two Pazar hans. One in Tokat and the other one between Antalya and Denizli. But the one I refer to ( the one commissioned by Mahperi) is in Tokat and I changed it accordingly.
