Rephrasing[edit]

Sentence: "The original library was started as a Muhammadian library...". Would it not be more correct to use the word "Islamic" rather than "Muhammadian?"

During the 18th - 19th century the Muslims of south Asian heritage use to identify themselves as Mohammadians rather than Muslims so, according to that Mohammed bakhsh had name the library as Muhammadiyah library as an identity for himself and his community and to show himself apart from the East India Company. Apart from that Muhammadian and Islamic are two different words. Mohammedan is a term for a follower of Muhammad while Islamic is a term that relates to anything that has some connection with Islam as a whole.
