Minor Unit of "."

What does a minor unit of currency of "." refer to? Can we have an example of this currency in use? For example, if troy ounces of silver is to be represented as a number, would this number be an integer or a decimal? I would hope an integer, but I can't say for sure because the "." has no explanation or footnote from what I can tell.

The minor unit is not applicable ("N.A." on an official list). Troy ounces of silver do not need to be an integer. Unlike normal currencies which have a smallest coin or note, it can be subdivided as finely as one can cut an ingot. The dot might not be the best character to show here but it does act as a mnemonic that arbitrary decimal places can be used. Certes (talk) 21:50, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
