Hello! Thanks for a much-needed article, but I'm not sure the source covers up the claim. And certainly the source can't back something written later. If you want to criticize Mitterrand's policy by saying it was lacking coordination (it might very well be the case), please find more than one source - you can accuse him of a lot, but I'm not sure "lacking coordination" is what best characterized him... Again, it's a very nice article, but such a subject needs close attention. Should we rename it to Foreign policy of France (1981-1995)? The guy didn't do all by himself... Alright, you are right. I based the title of the article on the title used at Foreign policy of Hugo Chavez. I can see the argument in favor of moving it to Foreign policy of France (1981-1995) based on the way the History of X country articles are often separated and titled, but if we do it by years perhaps it would be better separated by decades? Perhaps this should be brought to the attention of the foreign policy wikiproject for discussion. Perspicacite 04:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

It would surely be the best way to bring it to Foreign Policy Wikiproject (of which I was not aware of). A decade in itself doesn't really have sense, I think the best is either to base ourselves on presidential terms (in this case, 81-88, 88-95) or, for France at least, one could do it by regimes (Foreign policy of France (Fifth Republic), Foreign relations of Vichy France, Foreign relations of France (Third Republic), etc. (PS: note the existence of Foreign relations of Venezuela) Tazmaniacs 14:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

this article claims FM was pro reunification
yet wiki's Francois Mitterand claim quote:
"He was opposed to German Reunification, even thinking of a military alliance with Russia to stop it, “camouflaged as a joint use of armies to fight natural disasters”.
