Hunslet works numbers, ex works dates and service information[edit]

The following is the contents of an email received from John Middleton on 17 November 2013:

Hi Andre

These entered service from early 1902 to early 1904, you have the basic info but, all were moved away from Table Bay by SAR and worked at Durban, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein, but to my knowledge no photos of them at any of these locations have yet surfaced. Anyway, details are below.

The Hunslet engine register shows them as delivered with rectangular numberplates reading "T.B.H. No. 18" etc.

Note that although all these were scrapped, the almost identical (it had 3'4" wheels rather than the 3'3" of the TB locos) HE 790 of 1902 which was latterly with ESCOM survives to this day.
