Confusing[edit]

I was making some edits and can't really follow the progression of the battle or who was involved. The article is really thrown together. If anyone knows anything about it then it would be great to get some help. I am unsure of the significance of the battle as well and, if it isn't important, maybe the article should be deleted. Article needs clarity[edit]

The events described in the article state that

The Rathors after returning from their charge, thought that they had won the battle and mistook the Gwalior army as their Jaipur allies, they were caught unaware and shot down in great numbers and those who were able to break through the lines were bayoneted by skinners men.

Twice they charged us, and though each time repulsed, several broke into our squares, and were bayoneted there. At last the survivors returned to their camp.
This makes the reader believe that the Battle was won by the Maratha-French side and not the Rajput side contrary to what is mentioned in the Infobox. Are there any sources which can actually say that Rajputs won this battle?
pinging @Packer&Tracker @Sajaypal007 >>> Extorc.talk 14:17, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Such small battle pages are often edited maliciously for castecruft because they are not patrolled frequently. Although the Rathores did got initial advantage but it could not be materialised by their allies, The battle was a victory of Marathas. I and @Packer&Tracker did revert such edits but seems like there is no end to it. Sajaypal007 (talk) 17:46, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh Thanks. I did not know the history of this page. >>> Extorc.talk 20:21, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Extorc: I think Sajaypal summed up the sorry state of this article correctly. It has been (along with numerous less patrolled pages) part of frequent disruption not only from fresh anonymous contributors (1) but also from the extended confirmed accounts as well in the past:- 2 & 3. It's very hard to always pay heed to such disruptions for us as well. Enjoy the holiday season ! Packer&Tracker (remark) 12:36, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RAJ[edit]

@Ranadhira, the book of Jadunath Sarkar you cited here falls under WP:RAJ, as the book was prepared during the RAJ era. Find other reliable sources to cite the sentance. Imperial[AFCND] 07:11, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that this book sits in the middle of WP:RAJ and a post independence work. For something like this we should let @Sitush decide. It would be best not to rush and remove the citation. Ranadhira (talk) 08:50, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

the Jaipur Calvary misunderstood Marathas as their own Calvary then the rajput were shot down in the great numbers sawai Pratap Singh fled and retired from the battle field peace was made by him
Ig this is enough to be called a maratha victory even this book isn't written by JD sarkar and don't fall under WP:Raj WhiteReaperPM (talk) 04:27, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
