Lebanese casualties in Ansariya[edit]

I read in this Wikipedia article that Hizbullah / AMAL suffered 6 dead in the ambush and the Lebanese army 2 more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shayetet_13#Ansariya_Ambush but no source is given.

Blanford and other sources mentions only 2 lightly wounded Hezeb fighters. The numbers are repeated here: https://special-ops.org/ansariya-ambush-israels-sof-greatest-military-defeat/ but it seems more like a quote from, rather than a source to, the Wikipedia article.

If you know of any sources that can bring light to this issue please let me know. Preferably from news reports from the time (1990’ies) or from sourced books.

Hezbollah and Amal[edit]

@Jokkmokks-Goran: First of all, great work with this very interesting article! Now, while only Hezbollah is listed as a combatant in the infobox, the article states that Amal fighters participated as well. This makes me wonder: Among the 20 fighters stated to have participated, how many belonged to each group? And should Amal be listed as a combatant? I'd like to hear what you think, as you seem to have really done your homework on this one. Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 22:14, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The whole operation (all the 20 fighters) was Hezeb alone. The only problem was that this was in AMAL territory and Hezeb had to ask for permission. AMAL agreed to let Hezeb run its show and act as a backup. The actual battle was over in less than 4 minutes (except the Druze doctor who died much later). But yes AMAL did take part, as did the Lebanese army (firing flares and anti-aircraft fire). So I guess you're right. Jokkmokks-Goran (talk) 22:32, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
