Navy minister?[edit]

From 1864 to 1885 he was Minister of the Navy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, supporting initiatives of Johann Nepomuk von Wilczek and Julius von Payer explorations in the North Pole and Admiral Maximilian Daublebsky von Sterneck operations and defense fortifications in Istria and Dalmatia to prevent attack of the Italians or Serbs.

Born in 1854, he could not be minister from 1864. In the dual monarchy^from 1867 no navy ministry existed. The navy was administered by the navy section of the k.u.k. Kriegsministerium, the I.&R. War Ministry. --- Paragraph deleted.
