Name[edit]

@A455bcd9, are you sure that this is Kregan? Kurudere, Kulp was formerly named Kerikan/Kerka/Kırınkan so its possible that Alaca is is the wrong village. Semsûrî (talk) 09:52, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure. This source gives 384200 / 411000 as the coordinates for "Kerengan Kurungan, Krengan, Kerikan, Kezikan" but doesn't give the modern name. It mentions 3 households and 34 Armenians. This source also gives 3 houses and 34 Armenians for "Kregan (Kerikan)" I checked 38°42'00.0"N 41°10'00.0"E on Google Maps and found that it was called Alaca today (14h walk from Kurudere). But... I realize now that there are two coordinate formats... If I use 38.4200N 41.1000E, Google Maps says Konuklu, Kulp (9h walk from Kurudere)
This source gives:
  • Garekan, Garegan, Geregan, Kernkan, Gyarenkan [Kurudere, abolished] 38°25'6.83"N, 40°55'38.71"E
    • But it doesn't mention the number of inhabitants
  • Douderik, Douderan, Doudiran, Douderian, Doudarian, Doudervan, Tatervan [Konuklu] 38°24'2.32"N, 41° 5'41.11"E
  • Nadaran [Alaca] Approximate location: 38°36'31.53"N, 41°10'37.37"E
So... I don't know. a455bcd9 (Antoine) (talk) 10:12, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also: Alaca doesn't have a page on the Armenian Wikipedia, whereas Konuklu is linked to hy:Դուդերիան (Duderyan) and Kurudere to hy:Քարիք (Karik) with 2 Armenian houses mentioned there. They also have hy:Գեղերվանք (Geghervank) and hy:Կըրնկան (Kernkan) but they're not linked to anything. a455bcd9 (Antoine) (talk) 10:33, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
