Not running[edit]

The fact that someone is not running does not have any bearing on the historical status of the election. I don't understand how half these names even got on the list. Pierce is not even mentioned in his source. Nor is Pearce. The salmon source just says he's running for House, nothing about Senate. The same for Cherny and Crowe and Sinema. Mitchell's source is an endorsement, not a consideration. Shirley doesn't have a source! Many are sourced to a less than a sentence in one article. The fact that some idiot in the media can shout out the names of every prominent politician in the state does not make those people in any way relevant to the race whatsoever. The baseball player Gonzalez - someone asked, he said no. DuVal simply said no. HOW is this important? I left those who actually have full articles devoted them, but are people too stupid to know that if they're not listed, they're not running? So much of these are from sources a couple months after the last election, mentioning names in passing. Unless a person seriously considered running, a person was more than a passing idea that a writer churns out for the sake of making up names, they have no effect on the election, no historical contribution. And even then, that should be written in prose, not in an unnecessary list obvious to all - anyone who is not listed as running simply didn't run; it need not be pointed out.
