Error in the election date[edit]
The Biographical Directory of the United States Congress (the Bioguide) says that this election took place July 15, 1913, not June 15. I think that the person who wrote the article misread the Bioguide, and also that The Tribune Almanac made a mistake back in 1913.
June 15, 1913 was a Sunday. July 15, 1913 was a Tuesday. (Any perpetual calendar will verify this.) What are the odds that the conservative and traditional state of Georgia would ever have an election on a Sunday? Almost certainly the Bioguide got it right. Rontrigger (talk) 06:34, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
