Lackluster Ratings?

Now, 'Til Death got a 8.9 share on March 15th, [1], and a 7.9 on March 22nd [2]. Of course it's due to being on after American Idol...but still...I don't know if we could still use the word "lackluster" (which smacks of POV). Maybe the show wasn't doing hot when it was picked up for a new season, but it does seem to be doing better now, so I'm going to remove it for now...unless someone strenuously objects...but honestly, I couldn't really care. I've spent just a bit too much time in the last 20 minutes or so researching a show I dislike immensely. ColorOfSuffering 04:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Renewed?

There are two sentences in the opening section that directly contradict each other:

In spite of an initially disappointing showing in the ratings, the show has been picked up for a full 22 episodes season.
'Til Death completed airing its current season on April 11, 2007 and it is currently unknown if the show will return for a second season.

Which is it? SmartGuy 17:50, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I heard it was being renewed and coming back in the fall. FOX roped me into watching it one time after it came on after American Idol. Tratare 10:33, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Promos

Is it just me or do they only ever show Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher in the promos for the show? Other than when the show came out, I've never seen the younger couple in the ads. Actually, I thought they'd dropped the younger couple after the pilot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.136.128 (talk) 00:43, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Five/Five US

AFAIK, this show has not been acquired by UK broadcaster Five. Please stop adding it without citing a source.--Victim Of Fate 20:39, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Broken page

Hi, I think the bottom of this page is missing, i'm guessing because a table is broken. Can anybody fix it? Hectorthebat (talk) 23:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

The High School

What school is used for the frontage of the High School Eddie teaches at? It looks like Glenbrook North in Northbrook, Ill —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.182.41.176 (talk) 23:22, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Guest Appearances List

I'm all for a show listed noted guest stars (Brendan Fraser on Scrubs, for example), but this list is ridiculous. Does Wikipedia really need a list of everyone who played everyone in every episode? I feel like anyone who needs to know who played Boy #3 in episode 19 of season 1 or who played Man in Restaurant in episode 6 of season 4 can go on the Internet Movie Database to find out. That being said, some of these guest starts might actually be somewhat big name actors or recurring characters, in which case, perhaps they should stay on the page. I don't know. I don't watch the show, so I don't think I can know. I just feel to improve this Wikipedia page, almost all those names need to be removed, and those which remain, should be linked to their Wikipedia pages. --Jermdeeks (talk) 21:48, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you on that. I was just thinkin' that myself. lol Crash Underride 19:18, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll removing it. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 05:34, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Explanation

Do they ever mention why the younger couple disappears from the show and why Kenny lives with them? They were in "Philadelphia Freedom," but the production code for that indicates it's from the 2nd season and Kenny is not in it. Anyone know? (Languageleon (talk) 04:09, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

And the daughter is new too... She's not the same actress (I haven't checked the name, but she doesn't look like the same person I remember). It's like they canned everyone but the lead two characters. Very odd (and not as good, IMHO) Hardaker (talk) 12:52, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

I removed the edit about Lindsay Broad being replaced by Kate Micucci as there is no documentation that says this actually took place. According to IMDB.com she appeared as "Pretend Ally" for one episode. (eshler5) 8, March 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.54.76.204 (talk) 02:45, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

some one needs to check imbd again because it says nothing about her playing it as a pretend allie. Plus wasn't she just the waitress on one of the episodes.

FWIW, when Kate Micucci appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently, she said she got this part. And she did mention that she had already appeared once on the show in a different role. --anon. 141.157.195.190 (talk) 14:05, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
When I checked IMDB again today, the "pretend" was gone. Yet I still haven't seen anything documnented showing this change has been made. It could be true, but I don't get why they would keep changing the actress who plays the daughter. (eshler5) 9, March 2010

1. Stop caring about what IMDB says: it's user generated, and is a poor source for details.

2. Read the end credit (dvr, TIVO, Hulu, full episode replay, etc) "Guest Star" listings to determine that there have indeed been at least 4 separate actresses playing the role of Ally. The show itself is a primary source. Also, don't forget the host network's website, the production company's website, the DVD release house website, etc. Anyways for S4 Ep "17", Kate Micucci is listed as a Guest Star, and she's referred to as Ally in the episode, so there's that...

3. They "keep changing" the actress for a variety of quite legitimate reasons:

a) Real life gets in the way (contracts, lives, the writer's strike, disputes), and actors move on.
b) If (a) goes on too much, just give up and write it into the show. It's a meme in the industry anyways, so embrace it. Rosanne, Bewitched, etc.
c) Self-referencing actor replacement breaks the 4th wall in a different way than Boston Legal did.
d) It seems to form part of the back-rationale for her husband's "I'm in a sitcom" paranoia storyline, and has the appearance of being planned. (Personal opinion - it's not working due to bad writing and progression, but I can't wait for the "go for broke" episode when I imagine all the Allys appear. Should make clip shows interesting.)

4. So I added Kate Micucci as the latest Ally in the main cast table, with newspaper interview citation, in which she states she has shot 8 episodes, and the article refers to "5 actresses" playing the role. So she's one new Ally, at least for a while.

5. I found where "Pretend Ally" came from : http://www.foxflash.com/div.php/main/page?aID=1z4 the episode pictures here http://foxflash.com/div.php/main/page?aID=1z2z2z2z5z6 and the cast list here http://tv.yahoo.com/39-til-death/show/39116/castcrew where ALL FOUR Ally/Allison are listed (Broad, Ritter, Clery, Micucci) - (oh, and http://tv.yahoo.com/39-til-death/show/the-new-neighbors/episode/232816). Micucci is listed as "Pretend Ally/Ally", but the show credits list her only as "Ally." In the photos, Clery seems to return March 28 for at least one episode. -- Lexein (talk) 12:03, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for clearing all of that up and adding the correct info. I don't usually use IMDB.com but when I did a google search for info on Kate, it was one of the first sites that came up. eshler5 9 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.130.110 (talk)

Cool. Sometimes it's fun tracking this stuff down. But I wish the producers didn't hate the audience so much - "Pretend Ally" in the PR and listings, but "Ally" in the credits? Really?) --Lexein (talk) 17:35, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Lindsey Broad & Kate Micucci

I don't know why the original change was made after me and another contributor added Kate Micucci to the regular cast after it was quite apparent she replaced Lindsey Broad. I think it's quite clear after 2 episodes (19, 20) that Kate Micucci has taken over the character of Ally. Linsey Broad sin't even in the credits anymore, and Kate Micucci has been put in the regular cast credits. There's no reason to revert the change unless anyone can provide press that Kate Micucci is only temporarily taking over for Lindsey Broad. Nitroblu (talk) 23:56, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

(Thanks and welcome to defensive editing.) In the Kate Micucci interview she mentions shooting a small number of episodes. Further, she's persistently listed in Fox press releases as "Pretend Ally". Until FOX asserts one way or the other, this article can only state what's true now, no matter how "quite apparent" things appear. FYI there's a policy called WP:BRD - Bold/Revert/Discuss, and deletionists LOVE this policy, so stay on your toes. --Lexein (talk) 00:08, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Casting

I've never seen a cast list in a colored box like that. Anyone complain if I turn into the standard list format?

I'm so surprised to read that this show was on for four seasons...I didn't know it lasted more than one season. Newjerseyliz (talk) 18:55, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Deleted Garrison quote?

Looks like someone deleted the Brad Garrison quote stating that he was "glad that the series was finally truly canceled" or some such. I'd like to restore it in the context of the series low ratings and the fact that the cast agreed with the critics. --Lexein (talk) 20:21, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
