Rusking Pimentel (born January 15, 1978) is a Dominican-American TV anchor and public officer. He currently serves as a senior advisor and Director of Communications at the New York State Senate for the 32nd District in New York.[1][2]

Early life and education[edit]

Pimentel was born on January 15, 1978, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from EDP University. Additionally, he holds master's degrees in Marketing Science and Social Media Management from Liberty University and Information Systems Investigation and Digital Fraud Forensics from EDP University.[3]

Career[edit]

Pimentel joined the United States Army in 1996 and graduated from the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was later assigned to the 1/162 FA Battalion in Puerto Rico and subsequently joined the United States Navy's School of Cryptology. In 2003, he joined the Puerto Rico National Guard, achieving the rank of sergeant.[3]

In 2016, Pimentel joined El Show del Mediodía as a presenter.[4][5] During the COVID-19 pandemic, he developed a system of interconnectivity for the program.[6] He also investigated the death of the Haitian president[7] and founded Telecircuito, the first television channel in his native province of Monte Plata, broadcasting nationwide.

In 2022, he was appointed as Director of Communications by the New York State Senate for the 32nd District and in 2024 he was appointed as Senior Advisor of the New York State Senate 32nd District by state Senator Luis Sepúlveda.[8] He has also played a role in coordinating events that led to Senator Luis Sepúlveda becoming a Dominican citizen.[9][10]
