Tellis or Tellen (in Latin Tellen or Tellis, in Ancient Greek Τελλην, Τελλις) was a flutist and Greek lyric poet who lived in the first half of the 4th century BC during the time of Epaminondas of Thebes.
His name became proverbial (ἄειδε τὰ Τέλληνος "sing like Tel·lis") according to Zenobius, who said that although his poetry was well composed and quite graceful, it was playful and licentious. Fabricius includes him in the Bibliotheca Graeca.[1]
