Tears of Tragedy is a Japanese symphonic metal band, active since 2008. They have released 4 studio albums, 1 live album, 5 singles, 1 demo and 1 compilation.
History[edit]
Tears of Tragedy was founded in 2008 by guitarist Toru and keyboardist Hayato in Tokyo. They were joined by vocalist Yuriko, replaced in July 2010 by Haruka.[1]
The band's debut album, Elusive Moment was released in August 2011. On their second full-length record, Continuation of the Dream, released in 2013, they opted for a more melodic power metal sound.[1] Third album, titled Statice, was released on December 7, 2016.[2] It was ranked No. 3 on Oricon's weekly Indies Albums chart.[3]
The band's March 2018 single "Storia" was ranked No. 5 on Oricon's Indies Singles chart.[4] On November 25, 2020, Tears of Tragedy released their fourth album, titled Trinity.[5] On May 25, 2022, they released the album &, containing acoustic covers of songs from their previous albums.[6] & was ranked No. 8 on Oricon's Indies Albums chart.[7] Their fifth studio album, Wonder Arts, is set to be released on July 24, 2024.[8]
