Draft:Speedcore (Punk)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Speedcore" referred to a trend within Hardcore Punk. In the mid 1080ies many bands aimed to push Hardcore to extreme speeds, often using D-Beats and integrating elements of Speed Metal to their style. While most bands evolved towards other styles, such as Crossover Thrash, Crust, Powerviolence or Grindcore, Speedcore remained mostly a short-lived trend for many, appearing on few albums or even just individual songs. However, the fusion of Speed Metal and Hardcore Punk has been sporadically revisited by bands like Cripple, Grba, PsychoMosher, Ripper, and Wolfblood.
